How This Started
My workout routine began at a small gym near 12 Avenue des Sports in Paris. It wasn’t ideal, yet it was approachable, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.
After that spot shut down, I noticed the fitness landscape in France was changing rapidly. New clubs opened, new concepts emerged, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.
I began trying different gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Those notes eventually formed this site, created to help others make more informed choices.
My Approach to Reviews
Each review here is based on real visits and time spent inside the facility. I focus on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.
When I review a fitness center, I typically:
- Invest sufficient time to grasp routines, peak times, and usage patterns
- Visit across various days and times
- Experiment with multiple training formats and coaches
- Regularly test the amenities to assess cleanliness and comfort
- Speak with other members about consistency and gaps
- Note impressions right after each visit
I revise reviews when major changes occur—renovations, leadership shifts, pricing updates, or new facilities. Each article lists its last update date so you know how current the information remains.
What I Look For
My priorities may differ from yours, but these are the factors I consider most important when evaluating a gym:
Comfort and privacy: Does the space truly feel tailored for members, with clear boundaries and a calm vibe?
Equipment quality: Are machines well maintained? Is there sufficient variety? Are repairs prompt?
Crowd management: Can you train at your preferred times without constant waiting?
Clean facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously leadership takes the member experience.
Transparent membership practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unwelcome surprises.
Beyond the Gym
Beyond training and writing, I live and work in Paris. This project aims to simplify fitness choices and make them more transparent for people seeking the right environment.
